Answers Pro

Answers Pro is the planned premium edition for Answers. It is an add-on that requires the free Answers plugin installed and active; it is distributed through Freemius (licensing, activation and automatic updates), not the WordPress.org directory.

The 0.1.0 release is an early scaffold: it ships the licensing, bootstrap, activation and database-migration plumbing that the premium features will hook into. The features below are planned and not yet implemented.

Planned PRO features

  • FAQ search - a search box across a product’s FAQs and reusable sets so buyers find the right answer fast.
  • Helpful voting - “was this helpful?” voting on each answer, with reporting on low-rated entries.
  • AI-assisted drafting - generate draft FAQ answers from the product description and existing content for an editor to review.
  • FAQ analytics - report on most-opened questions, search terms with no results and FAQ-to-cart impact.

What the scaffold does today

  • Boots only after the free Answers plugin has loaded and fired its boot action.
  • Verifies the free plugin is present and meets the minimum version, with admin notices when it is not.
  • Registers premium services and hooks into the free plugin’s container (registries are empty placeholders for now).
  • Runs version-tracked PRO activation defaults and database migrations.
  • Declares WooCommerce HPOS and Cart/Checkout Blocks compatibility.
  • Integrates the Freemius SDK for licensing, activation UI and automatic updates.

Relationship with Answers

Answers Pro extends the free Answers plugin. The free plugin provides per-product FAQs, reusable sets, the accordion and optional schema; PRO adds search, voting, AI-assisted drafting and analytics that growing stores ask for.
