Legal pages

Every online store in Poland needs terms and conditions, a privacy policy, withdrawal information and a complaints procedure. Polski for WooCommerce creates the four pages for you as empty drafts, appends the published text to customer emails and can show a notice about out-of-court dispute resolution. It does not write the legal text: you write or paste your own.

The Legal Pages module is on by default. Go to Polski > Dashboard and click Generate legal pages. The plugin creates four WordPress pages with the Draft status:

  • Terms and Conditions
  • Privacy Policy
  • Right of Withdrawal
  • Complaints

The drafts carry no legal text, only a hidden reminder of what belongs on the page. Write or paste your own content, have it reviewed by a lawyer, then publish each page.

A page that already exists (published, draft, pending, private or scheduled) is reused, so clicking the button again does not create duplicates or overwrite your edits. The Dashboard lists each page with its status: Published, Draft or Not created.

Switching the module off stops new pages being generated. Pages you already have stay published and keep being used.

The plugin appends the text of your legal pages to the WooCommerce customer emails, below the order table. Nothing is attached as a file: the text is part of the email body.

Under Polski > Modules > Legal texts in emails you choose which documents are appended:

Setting Default
Terms and Conditions on
Privacy Policy off
Right of Withdrawal on

The choice applies to every email listed below; it is not configurable per email type.

The text is appended to four customer emails, and never to admin emails: customer_processing_order, customer_completed_order, customer_on_hold_order and customer_invoice.

The polski/email/legal_attachments filter receives a key => content array just before it is printed, so the content can be replaced without editing the plugin:

add_filter('polski/email/legal_attachments', function (array $attachments): array {
$attachments['terms'] = 'Terms and Conditions: ' . get_permalink(get_page_by_path('terms'));
return $attachments;
});

Consider the legal side before doing this. For consumer sales, the terms usually have to be confirmed on a durable medium; a link to a page the trader can change later is weaker evidence than the text in the email.

Neither edition turns the legal texts into a PDF attachment or lets you pick a different document per email type. Polski PRO attaches PDFs of its own documents, the invoice and the withdrawal form, which is a different thing.

The EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform closed on 20 July 2025 (Regulation (EU) 2024/3228). Stores no longer link to it, and the plugin no longer does either.

The Out-of-court dispute resolution module (off by default) shows your notice about out-of-court complaint and redress options, such as the municipal or district consumer ombudsman (Rzecznik Konsumentów) or the Provincial Inspectorate of Trade Inspection (WIIH). The notice appears:

  • on the cart and checkout pages,
  • wherever you place the [polski_complaints] shortcode or the matching block.

Edit the text in Polski > Modules > Out-of-court dispute resolution. A saved text that still contains a link to the ODR platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr) is not shown, so an old default never sends customers to a dead service.

The Generate button does nothing new The pages already exist. Open them from the Dashboard list and edit them there.

Legal texts do not appear in emails Check that the “Legal texts in emails” module is on, that at least one document is selected, and that the pages are published and not empty. A draft or password-protected page is not appended. The text is only added to customer emails, never to admin ones.

The dispute resolution notice does not show Check that the module is on, and that the text does not link to the closed ODR platform. The notice shows only on the cart and checkout pages, or where you placed the shortcode.
