Verified reviews

The module adds a Verified purchase badge to WooCommerce product reviews written by customers who actually bought the product. It is a trust signal on the product page, nothing more: it does not moderate, sort or filter reviews.

Enabling the module

Go to Polski > Modules and switch on Verified purchase badge. It is off by default. The module needs reviews enabled in WooCommerce (WooCommerce > Settings > Products > General > Enable product reviews).

How verification works

The badge is added by the plugin while the review text is rendered. For each comment the plugin checks that:

1. the comment is on a product post
2. the comment carries an email address
3. WooCommerce reports a matching purchase for that email address or user account

The purchase check is WooCommerce’s own wc_customer_bought_product(). That means the match is on the exact email address stored with the review, or on the logged-in user ID, and only orders in WooCommerce’s paid statuses (by default processing and completed) count. There are no matching modes to choose from and no normalisation of Gmail aliases or letter case.

When the check passes, the badge is placed immediately before the review text.

Badge configuration

One setting: Badge text, in Polski > Settings > Content & Trust, under Verified purchase badge. The default is Verified purchase.

The badge is a single element:

While the module is on, the plugin adds this inline style on product pages:

To restyle it, target .polski-verified-badge in your theme stylesheet. There are no modifier classes, no icon element and no size variants.

What the module does not do

The following are not part of this module, in any released version:

• no admin statistics screen for verified against unverified reviews
• no moderation queue, review limits, minimum-time rule or suspicious-review detection
• no front-end filter or sorting control for verified reviews
• no Review structured data, which is emitted by WooCommerce and by the Schema.org module, not here
• no shortcode for the badge
• no filters under polski/verified_reviews/

For review request emails, use the separate Review Request Emails module in Polski > Modules.

Troubleshooting

No badge despite a purchase. Check the order status: only WooCommerce’s paid statuses count, processing and completed by default. Then check that the email address on the review is exactly the one on the order, since the match is not fuzzy.

No badge on any review. Confirm the module is switched on in Polski > Modules and that WooCommerce collects an email address with reviews.
