Product comparison that stays fast

Versus adds product comparison to WooCommerce. Shoppers collect products from shop listings and the product page, and Versus shows them in a side-by-side table with the differences highlighted. Rendering is plain JavaScript, with no jQuery.

Comparing products is often awkward

A shopper wants to line up a few products before deciding. Without a comparison tool they open product pages in separate browser tabs and compare prices, specs and availability by hand.

  • No simple way to line up products side by side
  • Opening many tabs and comparing specs by hand
  • Compare tables with heavy JavaScript slow the shop listing
  • No comparison list for logged-out guests

Versus lines products up in one table

  • A side-by-side comparison table with price, SKU, availability and attributes
  • Difference highlighting with a show-only-differences toggle
  • Comparison lists for guests and logged-in customers, merged on login
  • Plain-JavaScript rendering with no jQuery

What you get in the free version

Everything you need to line products up side by side.

Compare button

Added automatically on shop listings and the product page; each placement can be toggled independently.

Side-by-side table

Image, name, price, SKU, availability and short description, plus a row per product attribute.

Difference highlighting

Rows whose values differ are highlighted, with a show-only-differences toggle.

Guest and customer lists

Guests get a per-browser list, customers a Compare tab in My Account, and lists merge on login.

Product cap

Between 2 and 6 products per list; the oldest item is removed when the cap is exceeded.

No jQuery

A plain-JavaScript front end with accessible buttons and ARIA attributes.

  • [versus_compare] shortcode with expanded table (shipped)
  • Sticky compare bar (shipped)
  • Configurable rows, CSV/PDF/print export and category scope (shipped in PRO)

Frequently asked questions

Does it require WooCommerce?

Yes. The plugin works with WooCommerce products.

Can guests compare products?

Yes, when you enable guest lists in the settings. The list is stored per browser and merged into the account on login.

Does Versus use jQuery?

No. The front end is plain JavaScript with no jQuery dependency.

Where does the compare button appear?

On shop listings and the product page, depending on your settings. The comparison opens on the Compare tab in My Account, or a dedicated URL for guests.

How many products can I compare?

The cap is configurable between 2 and 6 products. When the cap is exceeded, the oldest product drops off the list.

Does Versus pair with Shortlist and Swift?

Yes. Shortlist lets shoppers save products for later; Swift shortens the path to checkout. Versus lines up specs before the decision — all three are from wppoland.com and work independently.
